Welcome!

Welcome to the Epics, my little corner of the internet. I am an independent author and I go by the handle Distant Figure. Here, on my little blog, I take the various different works and short stories I’ve created and I upload them here for the world to see. Some are short stories I drafted in college, others were longer projects that inevitably fell flat, for one reason or another. Some of them are rough. Others cut off abruptly. But no matter how I look at them, I still think of each story I’ve written as different milestones. Each one represents a different period of growth and technique, and I’m proud of each of them, in my own way.

The projects I intend to tackle run the gamut, from fantasy, to horror, to science fiction, and beyond. While I intend to keep my focus fixated an a single project at a time, on occasions I’ll allow myself to pursue a passionate idea, or I might dust off an old project and post it on the blog for the world to see. From time to time, I may go on a tangent, going over my own experiences in writing, or delving into the process of writing each story.
